I was completely in awe watching video of this electric sports car floating above our planet. It shocked me even more to see the "Don't Panic" sign tucked gently onto the dashboard. "Am I really seeing that? Have I lost my mind or is that the COOLEST damn thing that has EVER happened in the history of human space flight??!!!" I was literally jumping up and down when I heard they were calling the "astronaut" Starman. DAVID FUCKING BOWIE REFERENCE YOU GUYS ARE KILLING ME. I texted my husband that day about a hundred times. We both love astronomy, space, Douglas Adams, David Bowie, and the green revolution here on Earth. This one event was like everything that makes us smile was rolled into one beautiful package. AND WHAT A PACKAGE.
So needless to say, I was inspired. I haven't felt that elated by a space event since Curiosity landed on Mars. And this was something different altogether. Because it wasn't scientific. It was done basically FOR FUN. Just to do it. It made me feel like I was living in the best version of this universe—if only for a day. So I drew. I finished this piece within 48 hours. I couldn't help it. It was like I the fandom took over and was ejaculated on to the page. (Sorry for that analogy...It's the damn truth though.)
